Celebrities Who “Kilt” For Fashion

Whenever most people think of Scotland, one of the first things they think of is kilt, which has been and always will be one of the most important pieces of fashion in Scotland. Although kilts can be worn by women as well, it’s mainly men who sport kilts.

Of course, celebrities are usually very fashion forward. Therefore, it’s no surprise it’s not completely absurd that many celebrities have taken a liking to them and led to them being very popular among celebrities.

Perhaps one of the most well known celebrities that proudly sports a kilt is Sean Connery. This is a man that has been referred to as one of the most handsome men in the world, so when Sean Connery puts on a kilt, there’s no doubt that the rest of the world will pay attention.

How can you celebrate Scotland and Scottish culture better than just having competitions in piping and drumming, dancing, and Scottish heavy athletics with a lot of fun, bagpipes and men in kilts? There is no better way than Highland games, events held throughout the year in Scotland but not only (i.e. USA).

In some books we can find notes about strong men in Scotland. in Middle Ages training their arms and willing to fight in wars. And after ages they were still training but not to fight on the war but to use their strength during Highland games.

Highland dances are an important part of a scottish tradition and rustic folklore of this land.  Scottish dances have a several ages of history and after that there are a lot of inspiring and well known stories left. Popular legends say about kings and heroic warriors, which dance a Highland Sword Dance before a great battle – when it had went right a combat was victorious, when the dance had been tenuous and the dancer had kicked the sword  it was a bad omen – the chieftain of the clan would expect to lose the battle. Now a Highland Sword Dance is a part of culture and tradition of Scotland and a lot of people practice this type activity in a dance groups around entire world.
